Trainee Miller

Learn with the best at Britain's number one specialist flour mill. You'll become an expert in all things grain and flour related, developing skills for success as you unlock the secrets of Matthews speciality milling.
Engineering/Milling Apprenticeship
Part Time or Full Time | 5 Day Per Week + Overtime (FT) | £22k-£25k (Pro Rata for PT)

Eight Generations And Counting...
Our story began in 1912, when MCF founder FWP (Frederick) Matthews built a mill on the river Evenlode.
To this day, overlooking the picturesque Cotswold village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood, you can find us hard at work in our ancestral home. It’s where we mill, pack, and ship every order directly to your door.
The company is led by seventh and eighth generation father and son team – Paul and Bertie Matthews – FWP Matthews’ great-great-grandson and great-great-great-grandson (respectively).

For the past two years, Matthews Cotswold Flour has been a strong supporter of documentary film Six Inches of Soil, which had its first global screening in Dubai at COP28 on 9 December 2023 and first UK screening at the Oxford Real Farming Conference - ORFC - on 4 January 2024.
Cotswold Flour Backs Fibre February Again in 2024
Following the news that 90% of UK Adults aren’t getting enough fibre in their diet, Matthews Cotswold Flour is joining the Fibre February campaign again this year to promote awareness of the importance of fibre on our plates.

We are delighted to announce that our friends at The Friendly Loaf Bakery in Nowton, near Bury St Edmunds, have just been voted Best Artisan Bakery at The Food Awards England 2023.
